A high fashion runway model for some of the top designers in New York City, in 2000 V-Muka established her premier modeling agency in Manhattan. This made V-Muka the first African woman to own and operate a high fashion modeling agency in the United States history. Born in Western Uganda, 1 of 12 children in a very large family, V-Muka acquired strength and perseverance that helped to overcome challenges she soon realized were part of becoming established in Manhattan. Indeed Rwanda has given birth to A strong, Driven, Genocide Survivor and African refugee camp survivor, Determined, Passionate, Clothing Designer and Innovator, Fashion Model intellectual, Advocate, Business Owner, Leader, Professional, and Role Model for YOUTH.

Perseverance, self-confidence, and teamwork are all qualities that evolved from the daily rigors of family life. It so happens that these are also qualities vital for success in the fashion industry. Born in Western Uganda, V-Muka came from a very large family with seven sisters and five brothers. Growing up in such a size-able family presented A lot of challenges that required a sort of strength that goes beyond the norm.

Hello! My name is Ms. V. Muka. I am from Rwanda Africa and a public Keynote speaker and model who motivates and inspires all types of groups especially children with over 19 years of experience, in New York City, Massachusetts, and Africa.

I would like to make you aware of my background and life experiences. I was born prematurely in many ways I shouldn’t be alive but by the grace of God, I am Alive.

I was born in a refugee camp in Africa in a family of 14 children. I had 8 sisters and 5 brothers. I am a survivor of the 1994 Rwandan genocide that occurred in my country. People characterize me as a strong, driven person who is a role model for youth. Perseverance, self-confidence, and teamwork were all characteristics developed from normal life in a large family. I have been re-born by my life’s experiences and the wisdom comes from my ancestors.

I have done many things to promote the causes of abused women and children worldwide as a victim of abuse myself. I survived the domestic violence that is epidemic nationwide today and I survived the drugs in the fashion industry.

In 1994, I moved to the United States and became a fashion, runway model in New York City. My fashion agency, FASHIONS Models, was founded in 2000.

I became the first African woman to own and operate a high fashion modeling agency in U.S. history. while raising a child by myself I have learned how to deal with adversity and to remain positive. I believe that “when you have a positive mindset, you cannot be defeated.” I also believe that “whatever comes your way, you must shake it off and move forward.”

I would like to come and speak to your group (possibly 10- 30 minutes) to motivate them to be positive, to persevere, to stay strong, and to overcome adversity in their life. I am willing to negotiate with you a fee to cover my speaking engagement, my plane flights, my hotel, and transportation. 

I would also be willing to do some volunteer work for your group in the community as soon as possible.
